Why Burundi is worth the trip

Burundi is built around Lake Tanganyika beaches and one of the least-visited capitals in East Africa. The country runs on Kirundi, French, prices in BIF, and centres on Gitega with major hubs at Bujumbura, Gitega. Flights route through BJM.

Across Burundi, a night runs roughly US$20–70 at market rates, from simple self-catering apartments at the lower end to lodges and beachfront villas at the top. Those are guide figures for the country, not Cabana quotes.
