Africans travel, host and pay differently from the people who built the world's big booking platforms. Cabana is built for that reality: one account for stays, safaris, flights, events, rides, car hire and food, with zero commission for the people who provide them.
Travel is one of Africa's largest and most visible industries, yet most of it is booked through platforms designed elsewhere. They take a large share of every booking from local hosts and operators, they assume everyone pays by card, and they treat Africa as a destination rather than a home market.
The people who deliver the trip are the ones who lose out: the guesthouse owner, the safari guide, the airport driver, the restaurant. The traveller pays for the platform's margin in higher prices. Mobile money, which already moves daily life across the continent, is still an afterthought on most travel sites.
Cabana starts from the other end. Local providers keep what they charge. Travellers pay the way they already pay. Everything for the trip sits in one account.
Cabana was founded in Nairobi in 2025. The product is live on the web and on Android, with destination coverage across all 54 African countries. We are building supply city by city, and recruiting ambassadors in fifteen cities across East, West, Southern and North Africa.
We are talking to investors who understand marketplaces, payments and African consumer markets, and who prefer long-term company building to quick returns.
Cabana charges providers nothing. Revenue comes from a small facilitation fee that travellers see before they pay, optional paid placement for providers who want more visibility, and value-added services.
Cabana is an early-stage company. It launched in 2025, the product is live, and the focus now is growing supply and bookings city by city. We share current figures in the investor pack.
Email connect@cabana.africa with your name, your firm and what you invest in. We will reply with the pack and a time to talk. Detailed product and technical material is shared after an introductory conversation and an NDA.
